Meeting of Directors Called For
Friday to Adjust Claims t
and Accounts. i
-The -call will be Issued today br
Secretary G. W. Carleton for a meet-
Ipg of the directors of the Fair Asso
ciation to be held at the Chamber ot
Commerco Friday afternoon anil
evening, Uetweon 4 and 10 o'clock,
f olr to nuYnose of settling all bills
incurred by the recent exposition. All
parties Holding onis against mo as
sociation will be expected to hava
them filed with Secretary Carleton
by that time.
There are a few who subscribed to
the original fund for the fair who
have not paid their subscriptions yet
but it is expected that they will do
so at once. The fair was a greater
success than any one had anticipated,
bringing more people hero than wero
expected, and It is believed that all
aro satisfied and will be ready to
fulfill their pledges.
"The fair would have had a neat
sum to the good, had It not Deen.
nee'essary to expend so much in im-
brdvlng and fixing the race coursa
and grounds," said Secretary Carle
ton today. "We will see that evcry
bill Is paid but this cannot be dona
out' of tho income from the fair
alone. However, tho Improvements
made are of a permanent nature and
furnish the basis for future fairs.
Next year and the following year. It
will not be necessary to expend much
on the grounds or for buildings so
that there will be an opportunity to
make the fair considerably more than
pay Its own way. I think that every
body Is satisfied with the success ot
the event. The officers are, and wo
wish every one who contributed or
aided in any way, to know that wo
are more than grateful for tho assistance."
