which will bo rendered in a manner
only accomplished by natural talent.
schooled by years of hard study un
der such masters as their director,
Mr. E. B. Kausrud.
This band, almost from Its organ
ization, has been noted for tho high
class and appropriate music furnish
ed by It. Too much praise cannot bo
given to the old members who havo
followed the band since Its organiza
tion, and the boast Is that few bands
afford as many Individual specialists
or a body of men so efficient in as
sembly playing. The band will ren- -
der the brilliant and difficult overture
to "Raymond," by Thomas, which
will bear the test as a standard prod
uction, as well as a test for the reed
section's ability.
Tho effects of a fortissimo will not
bo produced by tho blasting of trum
pets or cracking of trombones, nor
tho ninnlsslmos by the common delu
sion of holding tho instruments to
tho lips and not blowing. The dlii
gont rohoarsals have given tho band
sufficient oxperlonco In assembly play
ing to assure It of successful effects
without tho application of fake or
quacklsh methods. t
