terday and is busy renewing old
acquaintances and expects to spend

F. C. TRUE left this afternoon on.
the M. F. Plant for San Francisco
going thence to Avoca, la., where
he will spend a month or so at
his old home. A brother from
Spokane, Wash., who has been
visiting him here, accompanied
him.
ELDER J. C. CLAPP, an old pioneer
of Oregon, and the west, arrived
on the Plant to spend a few weeks
a guest at the homo of his niece,
Mrs. James Barrie, and will visit
many old time friends. He left
today on a brief trip to Myrtio
Point to see some old friends
there.
MRS. R. F. STREET and baby, re
turned last night from a tea
week's visit at Mrs. Street's old
homo in Salem, Ohio. They woro
accompanied back by Mrs. Streot'a
sister, Miss Piatt, who will spend
considerable time on the Bay.
They had a line trip and a very en
joyable visit.
DR. and MRS. SMIT.H of Portland,
arrived here today to visit friends.

Last night Miss Harper and Com
pany produced "Magda" at the Ma
sonic Opera House. From an artis
tic point of view it was one of tho
strbn'gest dramatic performances
over seen there and held the au
dience In close attention. Miss Har
per as "Magda" gavo a performance
rarely seen outside of the largo
cities, her acting was perfect, and
her dressing beautiful. J. O. Harper
