Council to Meet. The Marshfleld
city council will meet this evening
to take up the license ordinance,
South Marshfleld sewer and several
other matters.
A daughter was born Thursday to
Mrs. P. McDonald who Is making her
home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Moved Into New Home. E. D.
McArthur and family have moved

ing. Refreshments wore served.
Open New Delicatessen. Hagquist
& Stone have opened a delicatessen
and confectionery In the elegant new
store room In the Knights of Finland
Temple. Their friends will wish
them a successful career in their now
business venture.
Aid Society Meeting. The Ladles
Aid Society of the Luthern church
will hold its monthly meeting to
morrow afternoon at 2 p. m., at tho
church hall. All members are re
quested to be present as business of

Junior Hall Tennis. The Marsh
fleld juniors defeated the North
Bend sluggers by a score of 20 to 9,
yesterday. The batteries for North
Bend were Gaffney and Noblo. For
Marshfleld Rufus Weaver and Clif
ford Downs. Tho features of tho
game were tho homo runs by Rufus
Weaver and Harold Martin. Tho
teams will play again next Saturday.
Move to Port Orford. A. M. Bar
cus and wife of North Bend, left this
morning for Port Orford, where they
go to locate on a ranch near that
place now occupied by their son. Mrs.
Barcus will spend the summer thero
but Mr. Barcus may return In a few
weeks to look after business affairs.
Mr. and Mrs. Barcus have many
friends whose best wishes will follow
them to their now homo and hopo for
their return to Coos Bay.
Populnr Actress Coming. The San
Diego, Cal Union has tho following
concerning Margaret lies, who opens
a week's engagement In Marshfleld
Monday evening: "Miss lies wore

visit to San Diego has been tho sub
ject of much pleasant discussion and

voted on In Coos county in 190G and
In 1907. In 1906, tho vote was on
tho county as n whole while In 1907,
tho vote was by precincts. In 1906,
Sumner, Rowland, RIverton, Nor
way, Myrtle Point, Missouri, Lee,
Four Milo, Dora, Coqullle, Coos
River and Bandon voted dry but In
1907 Bandon nnd Coqulllo went wot
by small majorities. In 1906, tho
county went wet by 132 whllo in
1907, It was a triflo lnrgor.

not because of disappointment in

GEORGE and ALBERT HAINES,
the young sons of A. T. Haines,
who recently moved to Coos Bay
from Oklahoma, arrived yesterday
from Seattle where they have been,
spending the winter. Mrs. Haines
will arrive next week. Mr.
Haines has their now home In
West Marshfleld all in readiness
for tho reunion of the family and
is rejoicing that It will come bo
soon.
