Joe Knight, Jr., and his steer attract
ed somo attention in town last Mon
day. Ho has the steer thoroughly
broken; and had him fitted out with
saddle and bridle and managed the
critter as readily as ho would a pony.
Tho steer Is especially valuable at
leading a herd. Joe rides him on
ahead and tho herd follows over any
kind of trail.

most enjoyable time was had and
the Knights of Finland were the re
cipients of many compliments from
tho largo audience not only on tho
excellence of their new homo but In
tho manner in which they conducted
tho opening entertainment. Tho
evening's dancing program was fol
lowed by refreshments served In tho-
banquet hall of tho temple. Tho floor
of tho now templo' Is one of tho best,
if not tho best, on Coos Bay being
of Rock Island maple.
