to be Held in June.
The Alumni of the Marshfield
High School met Monday evening at
tho school house. The officers for
the coming year are:
President Miss M. Mahoney.
Vice-president Mr. Sam Marsden.
Secretary Miss Evelyn Anderson.
Treasurer Mr. Jas. Cowan.
It was decided to hold tho annual
promenade during the closing week
of school, June 8 to 13. Tho presi

mal Decoration Day ceremonies in
Marshfield next Saturday, May 30,
Dr. C. W. Tower said today that the
veterans hero did not feel as though
they were able any longer to bear tho
labor of preparing for extensive pro
grams that tho work they have car
ried on so long should now fall on
someone else. If anyone takes the
matter up, the veterans, Mr. Tower
says, will be glad to cooperate.
At any event, Individuals will re
member the day by beautifying and
decorating tho graves.

this week, probably Friday night, to
pass several ordinances that have
been hanging fire for several weeks.
A building ordinance, a plumbing or
dinance and several others aro likely
to bo taken up.
War on Rats. Tho crusado
against rats in Marshfield is going
merrily on. Up to yesterday, Mar
shal J. W. Carter had paid a bounty
of flvo cents each on 117 rodents
killed during May. This makes a
total of nearly three hundred killed
since Mayor Straw placed a price on
tho tails of tho rodents.
