of the Simpson mill at old North
Bend, met with a painful accident
Friday, when, while running a latho
saw, ho ran n splinter Into tho index,
finger of his right hand. Surgical
aid was necessary. Ho will bo laid
up for some time.
Council Meets Monday Eve. Tho
city council of Marshfleld will meet
Monday night. The last meeting ot
the body was postponed owing to tha
absence of Mayor Straw. There aro
a number of matters to bo disposed oC
including street work and tho pro
posed ferry landing site.

builder, is planning the building of

tion for tho Coqulllo river Is com

council has not taken any action as

tho council will take definite ac
tion at its next meeting. Tho ex
empt members of tho department
demonstrated Thursday night that
they are still as young and zealous
as over, when a number of thom
asked to bo put on the active list.
This adds considerably to tho flro
fighting strength of tho department.
