Smith Company Sells Two
Hundred, Thousand Feet
Since First of Year.
Since the first of the year tho C.
A. Smith Lumber company's retail
yards In Marshileld have sold over
two hundred thousand feet of lum
ber for buildings in tho city, and at
this rate tho construction of resi
dences and other buildings will
break all records. Of this amount
of lumber ono hundrod thousand feet
will bo used In the construction of
about eight homes,
Ono hundred thousand feet of
lumber will be used In the erection of
tho temple of tho Knights of Fin
land, and besides these amounts
thoro was aUo considerable timber
ordered before tho first of the year
which Is not counted. These sales in
dicate that with a little fine weather
building operations In Marshileld for
tho present month will bo far ahead
'of the month of January of last
year.

for the past tivo Is 51.4 degrees. The last frost of the spring oc- O
curred on tho 24th of April but did little damage; the first killing
frost of latter part of tho year occurred on the 3rd day of November.
Tho total rain fall for tho year is 7S.73 Inches; the average for .
the past five years Is 07.53 luches. Tho greatest precipitation In
"4 hours occurred on the 3rd day of January which was 4.03
inches Tho month of January was characterized by a snow fall of
G.70 Inches which Is very unusual for this part of the state. Thero
were ICG rainy days, 124 clenr, 32 partly cloudy and 209 cloudy.
