Mrs. Halleran of North Bend spent Monday in Marshfleld with friends. Mrs. E. A. Beckett is hero from Coqullle to spend a few days with friends. Mrs. Stonecypher and grand daughter were shopping in this city yesterday. Mrs. J. Landrith and daughter. Helen were in Marshfleld yesterday on business. Miss A. Cllnkonbeard of Coos River spent Monday in Marshfleld with friends. AV. S. Paige, a commercial man from Portland, is on the bay to visit his customers. Mrs. Gettins has returned from a two months' visit with friends at Roseburg and other valley cities. Mr. Sehlbrede departed on the Breakwater for Portland, and will return to Marshfleld in about six days. Mrs. Atkinson returned to her home In Coqullle yesterday after a few days' visit with friends In this city. Misses Lena and Phoebe Larsen left this city for their home yester day after a few days' visit with rela tives. , Messrs. Rinely and Bowen of Port land returned to that city yester day after a few weeks' vacation on Coos Bay. Misses May Magee and Alpha Wicklund arrived In the city last night after a few days' visit at Beaver Hill. George Balnes will leaye this morning for Bandon whero he will spend two days looking after busi ness matters. Mrs. S. A. Yoakum leaves this city today on a business visit to Ten Mile. Mrs. Yoakum will return in eight or ten days. Born To Mrs. Whittaker, of Gardiner, at the Marshfleld General hospital, on October 20th, twins, a son and a daughter. Miss May Jardner of Los Angeles returned to her home hi that city yesterday after having visited in Marshfleld for several weeks with relatives. George Goodrum, who will open a haberdashery in the present Gul ovson building, left yesterday on the Breakwater for Chicago, to lay In his stock of goods. Mr. O. D. Dwells and children ar rived In this city Monday and Intend making Marshfleld their home. Mr. Dwells will enter business and later will build a fine residence. Mr. and Mrs. AVilllam Grimes do parted yesterday for Oklahoma, and nit until the holi days. The country will miss Mr. Grimes and his boosting qualities. Prank Boutin Jr., who has been here for several weeks looking after the company's business, left on the Breakwater yesterday for Portland, and will continue on from there to AVisconsin. Mr. and Mrs. John Lockman left yesterday for Spokane and AVenat- chee to learn what they can about the murder of their son. They will keep the Times posted on any de velopments. Dr. Lawlor of San Francisco died Monday morning at 4 o'clock, after a severe illness lasting several months. AVill Lawlor left this city op the Plant and, arrived only a day before the death. Dr. J. A. Y. Tuttle. who had been visiting Dr. Tower and family for some time, left yesterday for his homo at Astoria. Mr. Tuttle was a former resident of Coos Bay, having lived here some thirty years ago. Mr. Frank AVood, of Portland, who travels from that city for a prominent firm, arrived in yesterday accompanied by Mrs. AA'ood who will visit the several places of Interest while Mr. Arood is calling on his trade. AArm. Hahn, and wife arrived in yesterday from a few days' outing at Ten Mile lakes. K. missed a new pair of five dollar shoes last night and is wondering what became of them. The boys who understand the situation are having considerable fun with Mm and tell of how a well trained dog named Teddy belonging to one of the leading restaurants carried the shoes away at the order of his master, whero they will come handy when the egg and potato mar kets beer mo so high they will force the restaurants Into bankruptcy.
