Matson, of North Inlet, was a city visitor yesterday. Mr. W. U. Haines spent Monday afternoon at North Bend. Mr. W. H. Noble paid a business visit to North Bend yesterday. Miss Annie Flanagan, of North Dend, was a city visitor yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Kelly, Miss Shaw and Mr. Bailey spent Sundey on Coos Riv er. Mr. O. D. Oldmor, of Yorka, Cal., is a business visitor in this city for a short time. Miss Susie Elckworth will arrive homo today from a short visit up Coos River. Miss Elsie Henry, representing R. G. Dunn & Co., of Portland, is in the city on business. A. B. Daly yesterday delivered to the North Bend Lumber Company, a steam feed engine and fire pump. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Summerlln took their baby to the General Hospital yesterday for medical treatment. Miss Y. H. Yoahl, of San Fran cisco, is visiting for a few weeks in this city with relatives and friends. Miss Peterson, of North Bend, left last night for her homo up North In let, where she will remain for somo days. Dr. J. T. McCormae and family break camp today and will return this evening to Marshfleld for tho winter. Mr. J. L. Flanagan, representing tho American Wood Working Ma chinery Company, is in this city on a business trip. Mls'i Eleanor Holm returned yes ter after having visited for somo time up Coos River, as tho guest of Mis. A. E. Seaman. Mr. Fred Pasley and Roy Lawhorn spent Sunday up Isthmus Inlet, inci dentally enjoying a delicious dinner at Courtney's mill. Misses Nellie and Agnes Kranlck leavo on the Alliance for Portland, where they will resume their studies at St. Marj,;s Academy. Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Billings are at Piper's Grove, occupying tho DePress cottage. They are catching salmon, and enjoying tho outing. Miss Agnes Rodell passed through this city on her way to Bandon, where she will remain through tho winter with relatives. Mrs. A. S. Soela, of San Francisco, arrived in this city Saturday on her way to Coos River where she will visit some tlmo with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Going, Miss Shaw and Wallace Going leave on the Alliance for their homo in Portland after hav ing spent a few weeks with relatives in this city. Mr. O. M. Marlow, of Chicago, is in this city for a few weeks. During the time Mr. Marlow Intends visiting the various towns and surrounding country. Mr. C. E. Rowe, of tho Government Service, arrived on the Alliance from Portland. Mr. Rowe will visit vari ous sections of the country and re main for some time. Mr. Chas. L. E. Rebert, represent ing H. W. Johns Manvillo Co., deal ers in Asbestos ware, is making a business tour of this country, and at present is in Marshfleld for a few days. Dr. J. G. The delegation of Eastern Star members from Bandon who ha,ve been attending the district conven tion of the order at Myrtle Point returned last night via Steamer Liberty. About twenty members went from hero and they report a splendid time. Attorneys Geo. P. Topping and G. T. Treadgold arrived In Bandon last night to spend Sunday; they will both return to Coqullle for the ses sion of Circuit Court commencing to morrow. Tho launching of the Steamer Borodoln at the Prosper yards is announceed for Wednesday, next; tho little daughter of Capt. and Mrs. Maloney will christen her. Capt. Maloney has been employed by tho owners to superintend her con struction and he will command tho vessel when launched. She will take on a cargo of lumber at North Bend and then wilt be towed to San Francisco where boilers, engines and machinery will be installed. She is a sister ship of the Steamer Welles ley which was launched from tho same yards somo five months ago. Fish (tons), year ending Sept. 1, 1907, 134. Mlscelleneous (tons-, in cluding wool, woolen .goods, vege tables, coal and dairy products, year ending Sept. 1, 1907, 1, 528, Aug. 1907, S2. These shipments were made by IS vessels with an aggre gate of 94 arrivals and 9G departures for the twelve months. These fig ures are compiled from the records of the United States Engineers' of fice at Bandon, Oregon, by tho Com mercial club. The Rose Wharf and Storage Co., of this place are building an addition 75 x 50 feet to their new warehouse. Inci casing traffic necessitated tho enlargement. J. J. O'Neill and J. R. Bowman have purchased the Bandon Brewery. They will put in a bottling works in connection and enlarge tho plant. Mr. Gehrig tho former owner con templates returning to tho father land for a visit. A party of plcnicers under tho chaperoneage of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hollopeter left for Bradley lake last night to spend Sunday In a camp. The city council listened to tho grieveances of the property holders on tho Atwater street improvement list last Saturday night and in re gard theieto receded to their origin al position allowing the town to pay for one half of the work and leaving only half to the special assessment. Yesterday news was received here that Alex. Mathers of near Rlverton was shot and instantly killed by his chum, Mr. Hull, while they were hunting In tho woods back of Bull ards. Hull mistook him for a deer, In a briiBhy thicket and shot him through tho heart. Tho boys were Inseparable friends and Hull is broken hearted over tho sad ac dent. Tho body was taken up the river to the home of deceased whero the funeral will occur today. Miss Pearl Walker left today for Langlois where she will have charge of the schools for the ensuing term. Two new teachers have been en gaged for the Bandon schools to ac commodate tho greatly increasing population of pupils that have como here during the past summer. Mrs. James Caughill, of Curry county, is in Bandon visiting friends. She will leave for her homo In Gold Beach this afternoon. Mr. Derby left this morning via Steamer Liberty for Grants 1'ass, whence ho will go to his mining prospects In tho mountains. He has located mines of unusual richness In that region, he says. M. O. Warner, the well known piano tuner, Is on his 19th annual visit to Coos Bay and Coqullle River country.
