This Is one of the best wheat crops
In tho vicinity, yet there are soveral
about ns good. Mr. Sikes Is harvest
ing with a largo 32-horse combine.

for a year or so for this road will

sioner W. W. Bailey spent a day or
two In Ashland last week, enroute
north from a visit to tho Klamath
country. Mr. Bailey Btates that the
dairy industry is making almost a
phonomlnal growth In Oregon and
rapidly developing Into one of our
principal Industries.

day's Oregonlan. Prices have never
been so high since tho present range
conditions existed and compared with
late years tho cost of production has
been less. The total clip of Oregon
this year is estimated at 20,000,000
pounds. Last year the sheep pro
duced about 18,000,000 pounds. Tho
value of the 1907 clip is approximate
ly $3,800,000. As a wealth producer

by about $560,000.

ning company's plant, Charlie Maro
vlch, aged eight years, nccldently
slipped and fell into the vat of boiling
liquid used for tanning hides and
was nearly scalded to death. The
