CITIZEN HI, B.Zimmer Passes Suddenly Away at the Home of John Bear. ,0RT TROUBLE THE CAUSE Deceased AVas 1'ioinlm-iit in Business Circles mill i'i "j property I roltliiiK. it n. Zlmmer died yesterday morning shortly after nine o'clock at the home of John Bear, after an ill ness of a few hours. The day be fore his death Mr. Zlmmer was feel ing In his usual good health, hut yesterday morning at two o'clock he tad a severe attack of angina pec toris, or spasmodic action of the heart, which causes the victim in tense agony. Dr. Mingus was caneu md administered restoratives. The undent gained slowly and at five o'clock, fell asleep, when tho Doctor returned home. Ho again visited tho patient at seven o'clock, and found Mm resting well. Shortly after nine, Ur. Zlmmer told his wife he was feeling much better and fell into a tee. Mrs. Zlmmer, who was busy la an adjoining room, heard him struggle soon afterwards, and upon colng to him, found him unconscious and unable to recognize her. He died almost Immediately notwith standing the fact that aid was at hand. Tim midden demise was tho tonic of conversation all day yesterday, for the family are highly respected and the head was one of the pro gressive people who have located on Coos Bay of late, and of whom much Is expected in the way of advice and leadership in building up the coun try. Mr. zlmmer lirst came to uoos Bay in January, 1905, since when he has been away at dlfferont times for short stays. Tho family spent the winter In Southern California, and then were at Boise a few months, coming to Coos Bay when tho weather was settled. The deceased was heavily inter ested In Coos Bay real property, probably to as great an extent as any outsider with the exception of C. A. Smith. Among Mr. ZImmer's prop erties on the bay aro: tho northwest fcorner of C and 2nd streets, 50x100; Ihe southwest corner of 2nd and A treets, 100x100; tho northwest cor ler of B and 4th streets; six lots in tallroad addition; 35 acres in sec Ion 10; 2 4 lots In Azalea Park, Ban on; a number of lots on the prin- Ipal streets In Plat B; besides ho has an interest In valuable property n Boise and business property In North Bend. Ho was also heavily nterested In Bay Park. A great por- lon of his Coos Bay property is trlnglng In a handsome income, and lias increased materially in value Ince he purchased it. Before coming to Marshfleld some fix weeks ago, Mr. Zlmmer had an Ittack similar to the one which end- d his life. At that time ho was nconsclous and it was feared then hat he would not survive. Mr. Hckey, a brother-in-law of tho de aesed, says ho had not been so ro ust this season as last year, and Ir. Mickey had reached this conclu- pou by observing his seeming ex- austlon at times when walking or xercising. The deceasod had been ware of tho probability of a fatal r'rmlnatlon, for he mentioned the ouble to Mrs. Zlmmer a number of mes and said ho believed death ould soon overtake him. Mr. Zlmmer was born on tUo Hud- IHLDM?jg OREGON, FRIDAY, JULY 26, 1907. son river in Now York. fmv.i, years ago. Ho camo west when a young man, and spent a number of years In survey work for tho North ern Pacific railroad which at that time was pushing its way to tho coast under the direction of Henry Villard. When he severed his con nection with the Northern Pacific, ho wont to Stockton, Kansas, where there was u now country and pros pects for a great future. Ten years of his life were spent in Stockton, whero he made a comfortablo for tune in real estate speculation, being associated with hit brother-in-law, Mr. Mickey. But rains became Infrequent in this country which had enjoyed plenty of rainfall for a number of years, nnd within three years, both ZImmer's and Mickey's accumula tion were swept away, and they moved to Boise eighteen years ago, practically jxmniless. In those eigh teen years, both regained their afflu ence and were well off when they de cided last year to como to Coos Bay. Mr. Zlmmer made a largo share of I1I3 money at Boise In the furniture business, which engaged his atten tion for fourteen years. While living in Stockton, ho was married to Maggie Hicks, who to gether with a son, Earl, and a daugh ter, Georgia, survives him. He was a Mason and had taken the work up tho line from the Blue Lodge to the Commandcry. He was a member of Al Korah Temple, at Boise. Mr. Zlmmer has no near relatives and the family Is yet undecided as to whether the body will be taken to Boise for burial or will be interred in tho local cemetery. Mrs. Zlmmer has a mother and two sisters at Boise, and for this reason only, is the proposal of burial at Boise considered. DAILY RKAITV TRANSFERS.
