Ten Mile, Oro., July 24. A largo
congregation of tourists from nil
points of the compass arc romping
at Lake Ton M.Ile. Many white-colored
tents of various shapes aril
sizes nro to be seen stationed all
oter the grounds of tho prosuective
hotel. The dignified nnd academic
appearance of these people indicate
they are a special creation of human
beings destined to become leaders in
commercial and social enterprise.
Tho majority, seems to be in tho
bloom of youth, drawing from natural
resources tho pleasures of life. On
July 20 a dance was given by Lake
Creamery employees and many of
these young bloods seized upon the
opportunity of tripping the elastic
toe.
Another class is noticeable for
being ensconced in cabins along the
quiet and shaded retreats to bo found
on the shores of tho Lake. These
people love luxury and the preborva
tion of their vital forces.
Some own their own launches and
brought them along so as to be nble
to tako a spin over tho lakes when
desires prompt them weather being
favorable, while others make dally
excursions over the lakes at tho ex
pense of the company's boats. It is
to bo hoped tho hotel will be in readi
ness to meet the tourists' demands
next season.
Hcport says the pressure of busi
ness forced the return to Marshfield
of that congenial but dignified gen
tleman, J. w. Dennett. Let us hope
soon for his reappearance. Ho bears
tho earmarks of a distinguished gen
tleman and gives out much sunshine
to his companions. When ho meets
a person whom he believes ho can
put on tho witness stand for a few

A right of way is being cleared for
the placing of water pipes from Clear
Lake to Noi th Bend. After tho pipes
nro laid the new water works com
pany will lose no time in supplying

A mooting was hold nt North Bend
on Monday evening, at which com
mittees of three from each of the
unions and lab,or organizations on
Coos Day were present and plans
wore formulated for giving a grand
demonstration on Labor Day, Sep
tember 2, in Marshfield.
A program was partially arranged
which will include a parade of tho
various organizations, speeches,
races, ball game, tug of war. nnd n
grand ball In the evening.
The delegates then proceeded to
form a central body and after much
debate a council was formed to be
known ns tho Trades and Labor
Council of Coos Gay. A cordial in
vitation i3 extended all fraternal
bodies on Coos Bay to participate In
the Labor Day parade.
TILTOX'S SMALL ESTATE.

Thcadoro Tilton, whoso suit several
years ago against Rev. Henry Ward

Harold D. Bullard stated that Tilton
