The steamer Plant arrived in from San Francisco yesterday afternoon, out from the Bay city since Satur day night. She carried a good pns senger list and 3C0 tons of freight. Purser Kohoe says they sighted the schoner San Pedro, which yesterday morning's dispatches told of being In collision with the Columbia, In tow behind the George W. Elder. The San Pedro had a bad list and the bow was stove In. There were several ships in the vicinity, among them .being the Roanoke, North Fork and Norwood. The Plant was not near enough to speak any of the vessels, and so learned nothing of the disastrous wreck until the ship reached Empire yesterday.
