Mc Cormac is having a new boat built at the Timmerman boat building establishment. The craft will be 45 feet in length, with an eleven foot beam, and its depth will be five feet. Tho boat will be used for towing rafts from the booms up Isthmus Inlet to the various mills about tho bay. It will employ gaso lene as power and be supplied with a thirty horse-power Standard en gine. Mr. Timmerman says the boat will be ready for' tho water in about a montu. Partner Wanted. Mar3hnold's now hotel, announce ment of which was made in Sunday's Times, will solvo a long perplexing question on Coos Bay. The structure when convicted will bo three stories in height, covering a ground space of lOOxSO feet. It will bo equipped with tho most modern equipment tlnoughout. On tho first floor will bo the hotel, kitchen, dining loom, offipo, cafe, bar and loading room. The basement will contain tho steam heating plant; also the quajters for tho stah'. The second and third floors will bo used as guest rooms. On the -second will bo a commodious parlor. The establishment will have a pi. vate telephone exchange and each room will be equipped. While there will not be bath rooms In each apart ment, they will be placed in such close proximity that guests will not bo inconvenienced. Tue building will be in tho shapo of an L, the long sido being on C street and tho 80-foot frontago being on Second. This will leave a space In the rear of tho build ing about 00x00. Over this space Mr. Gibson will erect a frame roof and will have a billiard room, and club and reading room combined. There will also bo a barber shop with baths in connec tion. Tho building will bo constructed with an insjde framework of lumber surfaced with veneered brick. It is estimated that the cost' when com pleted will bo between $40,000 and $55,000. The site on which the hotel will be erected was purchased for $15,000. To Coos Bay, Oregon, which la probably the best harbor between Pugot Sound and San Francisco, is being built a railroad which will put tills country for tho first time in direct touch with older rivals for commercial supremacy of tho Pacific coast. Tho road is the Oregon Western, now under construc tion by tho Southern Pacific from Drain, on its main line, to Coos Bay, 73 miles southwest.
