Following are the arrests, prosecutions and licenses Issued for the month of April: District No. "1." April 5, Water Baliff W. A. Mack seized two set-nets that he found near the golf links in the waters of the Willamette river In condition to take salmon; the same being during the close season period. April 8, Water Baliff Win. W. Smith seized a gill-net containing three salmon that he found fishing during tho spring close season period in the West Port slough, a portion of the. Columbia river. April 14, Water Baliff W. A. Mack and Louis Rail arrested Eddie. A. Himler and slezed about 120 feet of his gill-net for fishing in the Clack amas river, during the spring close season period. Upon being tried be fore a jury in Justice Stlpp's court at Oregon City, April 26, a verdict of guilty was rendered, whereupon the justice imposed a fine upon him of $50 and costs. April 15, Water Baliff Ole J. Set tcm arrested Antone Zanklch and Joe Greget for fishing for salmon luring tho spring close season per iod, upon being arranged before Justice Goodman of Astoria, they en tered pleas of guilty, whereupon each -was fined $50 and costs which they paid. April 18, Information was furnish ed by Water Baliff Mack against W. W. Riles, manager of tho Big Four saw mill at Gaston, for allowing saw dust to be discharged into a stream called Tanner creek, In Waashington county. The case was tried April 27, 1907, and the jury failed to agree on a verdict. April 22, Water Baliff Settem filed complaints against John Mustik and Fred Olsen for fishing for salmon during the close season period. Up on being arranged befor Justice Goodman of Astoria Mr. Mustik en tered a plea of guilty, and was fined $50 and costs which he paid. Mr. Olsen was tried In said court before a Jury who found for him a verdict of not guilty. April 30, Deputy Warden Brown and Water Baliff Mack seized six set-nets that they found In the waters of the Willamette river In a condi tion to take salmon without being properly numbered.
