A Smith company Is con stantly bringing more men here to work in tieir mills, and will have many more. The force will be a large one and the men and their families must have places to live. The com pany has done much itself to pro vide. There are no accommoda tions for about 100 single men and sixteen families at Bay City, places for twenty men at the old store in Marshfield and sixty more can be comfortably roomed in the big boarding house which the company will start at once to erect. It cer tainly cannot, be said that the com 'pany has been slow about providing regardless of expense, but it is their hope that individuals will build houses and rent or sell to the men and thus help relieve the pressure. The company is a big one and has located here, and the men must have places to live. It is not unreasonable that the people of Marshfield help to provide bouses and do their part. The Smith company is certain".? do ing its share. (Time Special Service.) Myrtle Point, Ore.. May 6. The j annex to the Guerin hotel is almost completed. Red Cross Pharmacy. Terrible Accident on Fourth Street Bridge. Frank Johnson was badly injured last night while crossing the Fourth street bridge. He, in company with his brother John, were on their way home, when on arriving in front of the Minot bouse he fell through a hole in the bridge, bruising himself badly. John Johnson helped Frank out and started to assist him home, but fate was against them, for on coming opposite the Snyder barn a loose plank was the cause of throw ing both of them down, injuring both quite badly. By an unusual effort they managed to get as far as Mrs. Stutesman's residence, where John Johnson was thrown by a loose plank which almost knocked him senseless. Both staggered on to the intersection of Fourth and G streets, where Frank stepped in a hole in the bridge, breaking his leg. Friends of both men are wondering how they escaped death. It has since been discovered that the Johnson family use Sound Ring Flour and this accounts for their ronderful consti tutions. At latest reports both men were resting easy. Phone 441 COULD HAVE A LKAGUK. The baseball players of Marshfield are stirred up now to form a team to play North Bend. It is a good move. There are many people here who enjoy a ball game, and the lo cation of the city is such that it is impossible to see any of the big games without making a long trip There is plenty of good material here, and there is no reason why North Bend and Marshfield, with Co quille. Myrtle Point or Bandon, can not have a league and play out a reg ular schedule. There is so little here in the way of sport that ball games would be hailed with joy by thos- who enjoy athletics and want soma place to go. LOCAL BRICK. The opening of a brick plant on Coos Bay means a great deal in the way of building. Those undertaking the work say that as good brick can be made here as any place, and if this be true It Is a great thing. The high price charged for brick shipped In here has made that material prohib itive in the past, but if the product can be turned out here on the bay at a reasonable price we will have brick buildings in the building section. It means a revolution in the building of the Coos Bay cities. MARSDEN'S COOS BAYBOTTLING WORKS ROYAL SELECT GAMBRlflUS BOTTLED BEER BoLtledm Quarks, Pints afidne Half Pints.
