J. K. Cooke Who Huns Away With Her. New York, May 4. Rev. Jero Knode Cooke, who recently left Hempstead, L. I., where for five years he has been rector of St. George Episcopal church, was to night deposed from the mlnlstery l)y the bishop of the church. Beyond the fact that tho writer asked to be dropped from the mlnlstery, nothing is made public regarding a letter from Cooke which was dated New York. Coincident with Cooke's de parture, Miss Ploretta Whaloy, a 17 year old girl, who Is about to come into Inheritance of $125,000, also disappeared from the home of her grandmother. The girl's parents are dead. On his death bed, the father consigned Floretta to the spiritual care of Cooke. Tho girl has written her grandmother that she has gone away with tho minister. McClellan, characterized as a weakness the desire for peace, unless It could bo obtained on the right terms.
