Smith company Is Being pushed as rapidly as possible. Most Qf that be ing done now is of a preliminary na ture and does not show to the casual observer, but even now the mill site looks busy. A pile driver is there, and men are at work at the dock nearly opposite the Day City mill. The dock when finished will be a platform about GOO feet in length, and will be used In the unloading of lumber and material during the con struction work. There are now sev eral big pieces of machinery on the platform. The big wharf which will be used for loading lumber when the plant is finished will be on the north side of the mill site. It will begin at the point at the east end and will extend on toward Marshfleld, and will eventually reach as far as the coal bunkers! This big dock will bo bo the ilico where the big loading is done. fho present structure is largely tcjbo used in the construction work. ' Mr. Mitchell, the draftsman, who is working on the plans, will have his ofllco moved over to the mill site as soon as a place can bo provided for him. lie is a mechanical en gineer as well as a draftsman, and Avill be there to watch the work as it progresses. He is now making the ground plans to suit the machinery, and will later draw the elevation. It is expected that the big mill will be finished by the first of De ceTpr. This will be pushing mat ters, but if the company is not ham pered by delay in the delivery of ma chinery the plant will probably be ready for operation at" that time. WANTED.
