Tuesday evening, Lafayette Lodge
No. 34 L O. GL T.. held, a public in­
stallation of the officers elect for the-
ensuing quaiter, at their new hall in
this place. After the ceremony of
installation, the very large audience
listened to an able speech on the sub­
ject of temperance, by A. Hurley,
Esq., who introduced some very able
points. Gen. Palmer, of Dayton,
made a few appropriate remarks
whhdkdrew forth rounds of applause..
Other gentlemen made short speeches,
after which several nice cakes which
were contributed by gpnerous freinds,
were auctioned aft for the benefit of
the hall. The reoeipts of the evening
were <21 50.
