Personal and Local H. C. Topping, manaeer of the warehouse at Culver, was a busi ness visitor in Madras Tuesday. Mr. Tierney, of Portland, is spending his vacation with his old time friend, A. E. Peterson. E. M. Larkin, representing the Tst Manufacturing Co., was in M iras the early part of tie week. Stanton Black, a large rancher and stockman of Blizzard Ridge, w is in Madras Wednesday trad ing with local merchants J. S. Jacobs, who lives ..two mile - r north of Madras. They were ap p es of the Gravenstein and Esr- ly Sweets varieties, and from the size, color and quality of the fruit, it is an" assured fact that with proper culture all kinds ot fruit may be profitably grown throughout this section. There are several other orch ards on the Agency Plains that are bearing for the first time this year, and some that have been bearing several years, that are loaded this season, many varieties of which it had been thought impossible to raise ex cept in the Columbia River basin.
