Millers and dealers there are virtually out of the market, and it seems as if the reports sent rom that state up North are be ing verified. The lack of buying power may arise from a number of causes, one especially that ;he prevailing high prices do not iustify any one to purchase any of the wheat held up North here New crop values will shortly be made, and the difference of opinion with the trade is that it will be fully from 10 to 15 cents bushel less than now prevail- incr. A large crop in signt win have a great deal to do with the regulation of price. The crop outlook of the Pacific Northwest is very good, far better than it has been for many years at this time of the year. We are thank- ?ul that cron scares such as we hear of east of the Rocky Moun ;ains do not trouble us out here Although crop scares must be accounted ihe most speculative force of the Eastern market, the nrese'nt drought news from the Southwest is being received with more than usual conserva ism. At the same time it is not well to ignore the news, since it is almost certain that with any prolongation of dry weather :here would be further losses in the winter wheat production. The lack of interest in wheat in Eastern markets was very evi dent during the week, as there was plenty of bullish news. The short interest trade had to all appearances covered in the sharp rise from the extreme break and left the market abso lutely bare of any lifting power save buying for the rise, and this was not induced to come into the pit, notwithstanding the drought reports. Crop condi tions in the eastern part of the Northwest continue to maintain the good standing of the previ ous week, and it is generally making seasonable growth. Wheat acreage is calculated short of that put in last year. Corn is only in part planted and but little is yet known of the progress of that. Much atten tion has been given to the pro curing of seed that is expected to grow. Excepting weather too cool, the prospects are yet satisfactory. Oats crops are mostly doing well where they have had time to show above ground, with a good average moisture to sustain them. Al together the situation is favor able. There is some talk of places too wet in the valleys, and the talk is well based or the land would be in need of more mois ture on the uplands. Except mg the great need of rains in parts of the Central West the standard crops are well spoken of. HORSESHOEING WAGON and WOOD WORK G-E-N-E-R-A-L R-E-P-A-I-R-ITnu?
