Some several "boys" in town who had learned to love mint juleps in days be fore the war, and some who have learned to love them since, became over-joyed at the meet ing of a long lost friend. For unately they used reason enough not to try to drink all the juleps that could be mixed, and thus were enabled to get home to wife in safety. Judge Jackson was on hand with his regular story anent the origin of the julep, reminded of it again by the perfume of the drink that helped to make Southern hospi tality famous.
