H. L. Priday, of lower Trout
Creek, last week at the North
Portland stockyards, received
$7.25 per hundred, for alfalfa
fed beef steers, the highest price
on record in the open market,
west of the Rocky Mountains.
The consignment consisted of
15 carloads, 38G heads, of fancy
steers, averaging over 1200
pounds each, and were handled
by Kidwell & Caswell, the Port
land feeders and brokers.
Mr. Priday fed the cattle since
last fall, on alfalfa raised on his
Trout Creek ranch, and used no
grain even for the finishing, it is
said.
