Phone Your Orders ISOLATED TRACTS The Senate and House of Rep resentatives have agreed on an amendment of the Isolated Tract Act that will be of interest and importance to many in Oregon, and other public-land states. The bill originated in the House and passed that body after brief debate. It was called up in the Senate on March 16, and after a pro forma amendment was passed by a unanimous vote. That the bill will bear the signa ture of the President and be a law within a few days is assured. The new feature is that iso lated tracts not wholly sur rounded by lands that have been filed on or entered if the "great er part" of the same is "moun tainous or too rough for cultiva tion "may be ordered on the mar ket for sale on the application of of the owner of adjoining lands, or by one who holds a valid entry adjoining the tract to be sold. In cases of this class only an owner of adjoining land or an adjoining entryman can make the application. N. J. SINNOTT OF THE DALLES, OREGON !
