Yet none of these, no matter how tbey

Set far away In depths of purple sky.
Sweet lovo may bring to us this day su

And weeks' and months dash by a somber

John M. Thomas, president of Mid
dlebury college, says Uint a year or
two ago a certain town employed a
trained superintendent, a college mnn
who knew what a school ought to be,
to exerclso supervision over nil- the
schools of that town. It was the first
time some of those schools had over
been visited In an ofllclal capacity by a
salaried administrative olllcer. In one
school n little toddler was found study
ing percentage, learning It by heart.
"You should not tench him percent
age." tho superintendent said. "He
does not know how to add and sub
tract." "Hut I'vo got to," the teacher an
swered. "The front part of tho 'rlth
luetic is torn out."

This editor Is not a liar, but ho Is
badly mistaken.

It Is quite amusing to see some of
our harebrained poultry writers using
the n priori nnd Charles Darwin theo

rooster origin nnd hen heredity. If
Darwin could read their fool stuff he'd
surely turn turtle.
When tho head of tho query depart

an inquirer to grease her old White

she certainly didn't think what nn aw

fools and the city farmers aren't all
dead yet. you bet!

Dr. Max Staller of Mount Slnnl hos

used the lining of eggshells as a sub

quickly adheres to tho burned surface
and covers It wltb beautiful new skin.
