With large crops and high
prices, this cannot be otherwise
than a prosperous season for
Oregon. The products of the
arms, forests and rivers will
net the producers of the state a
good $100,000, 000. The. crops
i

but in nearly every case they are I this year than eyer b?fore
Prunes' are not only very abun
dant in Oregon, but very high in
price, the market being strength
ened by the smaller world's crop
nnrl f.hn fnnt that there is no
carrv-over supply of Oregon
prunes anywhere.
Other orchard fruits, except
pears, have yielded well and
hroucrht $rood nrices. and the
tj t
same is true of small fruits of all
kinds.
The Oregon notato crop this
year is of normal proportions,
and the indications are that
prices will be considerably avove
the average.
The onion crop promises to be
a little larger than last year's
and it is almost certain that val
ues will be good.
Oregon is coming to the front
as one of the great dairy states
of the Union and as time passes
its importance in this respect
will increase. Conditions here
are ideal for successful promo
tion of the dairy industry, as is
shown by the fact that the total
value of butter, cheese and con
densed milk produced this year
exceeds that of any other line.
Oregon farmers are receiving
better prices for their milk an J
cream than the farmers of any
other state in the Union. The
product turned out by the cream
eries and cheese factories long
ago attracted the attention of
tradesmen in other states. Tilla
mook cheese, especially, is known
far and wide as the best cheese
produced in the west.
The poultry industry is grow
ing, but does not keep pace with
the growth of population. The
price paid producers for poultry
and eggs are high, and are likely
to continue so for years to come.
The Oregon growers will make
more money out ot their hops

POPULARITY
It is regrettable that
during the past few years
not everybody that wanted
an UNDERWOOD could
get one just when he
wanted it. There were not
enough to go around, not
even with the considerable
output of 400 machines per
day.
Now, however, with the
largest typewriter works in
the world we hope to keep
pace for some timebwith the
demand.
It is not by accident' that
the Underwood Company
has in a few years built up
this enormous business. It
is the logical result of sell
ing the best typewriter at
a price consistent with its
value and giving the cus
tomer the best service ever
offered in the typewriter
business.

I he grain crops of the state
have turned ojt better than ex

ed the wheat crop of the Eastern
the market, carried over from
previous years, but this surplus
has at last been used up and the
brewers of the world are going
into the new crop year without
any reserves.
With the current year's pro
duction short of actual needs
prices have naturally risen. The
Oregon growers, except the few
who contracted early at low
prices, will get handsome returns
for their labor.
