C. E. Owen has his new black smith shop open here and is sweating like a nigger at election to keep up with his work. Tom Dizney and Bert Widener are engaged in clearing the rocks ft om the two county roads leading from Agency Plain down to this place. Bert Widener of West Plains, Mo., is a new arrival here and is stopping with his uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. John T. Dizney. J. T. Hardy, of the freight department of the Oregon Trunk was here a few days ago on business and fishing. Frank Dunn of the Deschutes railway freight department was here today on a hurried mission of business. W. P. Magill of Wamic is ex pected here this afternoon to begin threshing the Agency Plains wheat crop with his steam outfit. AUREVOIR. Vanora, Aug. 10. V., on Thurs day night of this week at the Free Methodist church in Mad ras and hold over Sunday. A number are expected from other points in the district. The delay will be only temporary. The themes of discourse at the Christian church next Sunday morning and evening, August 20th, will be respectively, "A Good Church Member," an 3 "The Betrayal of Christ." Charles A. Sias, minister. ine construction or the new freight and passenger depot for the Deschutes railway has been commenced on Agency Plain, near the temporary depot that has been in use. The new build ing will be one of the finest on that line. Miss Clara Horney was pleas antly surprised at her home a few miles south of town last Tuesday evening, by a visitation of the M. E. Sunday school from this place. The evening was most enjoyably spent by all at tending.
