Woolley, the well known traveling man, accompanied by his wife and son, and Mr. Gates and family, passed through town the first part of the week in automobiles on their way to Crane Prairie and other points on the upper Deschutes lor an outing. 0. A. Pearce, cashier of the Madras State Bank, expects to leave next Sunday for Page, North Dakota, to accompany his wife and children to their new home at Madras. Enroute he will visit Seattle, Bremerton, Victoria and Vancouver, B. C, and will be away about three weeks. J. W. Baker's express team bolted this morning from the public water station, where Mr. Baker had their bridles off to give them a drink. Hitched to the express wagon they made a wild (light to Main street and landed with force against a tele phone pole near the Central Ore gon Mercantile company's store. The harness was broken in some parts and the tongue of the rig smashed, but otherwise no dam age resulted.
