ENORMOUS DIKE OF PURE LIME Continued from page 1. $2.25 per barrel, holding about 200 pounds. The exceptional purity of the product will give it a great advantage over the ordi nary commercial rock, it is stated. The successful development of this industry will add not a little to the business activity of Mad ras, and will also add much to the glory of the resourcefulness of Central Oregon. Heretofore scattered croppings of lime and gypsum have been discovered at different points in this county, but the "Spar King" which is the name applied to the Hay creek deposit is thus far the only one that promises to ne oi .ui great importance. n,,iv n short distance from the location of this discovery are the coal mines that have been par tially developed. Tn close proxi mity to the lime dike Mr. Cavanoy has discovered a ledge of rock that is highly mineralized and has indications of carrying gold, silver and copper.. Samples of this ledge have been sent for analysis, and it may be that a valuable metal mine has also been located there. "If tts's worth a dollar a ton," said the finder, "I will soon bo a million aire, for there is a whole moun tain of it."
