A new postofilce will be established at Vanora station during the coming summer. John T. Dizney has been named by the department as postmas ter, and it is expected that mail service will bo given sometime in July. Miss Jessie McCallister, of Portland, who has been visiting relatives at her old home in Prinevllle, was here Tues day evening on her way to Portland. Miss McCallister will shortly go to St. Louis, whore she will be married. Charlie Wilson, who formerly operat ed a barber shop In this city, and who with his family is now visiting at Cul ver, states that he expects to rem h in In this county. At present he is em- , ployed with the John Moore auto com pany. Mrs. Isa. E. B. Crosby has had a new building built this week on the lots she has leased just north of J. P. Robert son's store on Main street, and has opened a millinery store in one portion of it The remainder of the building will be for rent. The new Van Tine building just south of the McTaggart property is being rushed toward completion this week by a force of carpenters. Tho structure Is being built especially for a moving picture theatre which is to occupy it as 80n us finished. Dr. Snook last bight had some ex peiience ith his auto. While on a professional call to Culver his gasoline tank got to leaking and when ho reach ed tho hill near Homer Alexander place on the return trip he discovered that he was out of fuel. Peter Marnach returned last night from a sojourn in Portland and Seattle. Mrs. Frank Hunter and their infant child have been very ill at their home near Culver, but are reported to be im proving at present. Dick Dove js-again on duty as night watch, having been laid up for several weeks with his foot which was injured by the accidental discharge of his revolver G. P. Owens has started the erection of a new store building in Railroad addition and will open a general mer chandise business therein as soon as the building is completed. C. J. Hoke; formerly a special agent of the general land office is in Madras today on his way to Bend, where he ex pects to locate and engage in the home stead location business and handle other land matters Geo Austin, who has charge of the well drilling operations for the Oregon Trunk at Metolius, returned last night from .a business trip to Portland. A revival meeting will be opened in the Christian church next Sunday by Evangelist Gregg, who will be assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Webb, the evangelist ic t-ingers. J. W. Jones was in town today from sawmill on Grizzly Mountain. He states that the mill has on hand quite a supply of lumber which has been sawed duriug the past few months.
