The Pioneer, the new depot for
Madras, on the Oregon Trunk
Line had been Btarted, and at
this writing the building is be
ginning to assume shape, the
foundations have been laid and
the building is far enough along
to commence placing the roof in
position.
There is a large crew of car
penters at work on the building
since it was started and as the
lumber is now all on the ground,
the work will be pushed as rapid
ly as possible to accommodate the
large amount of traffic and freil
ght that is being shipped to tin

AUTOMOBILE BUSINESS
HERE ON THE BOON
The first carload of automo
biles to be shipped into Centra
Oregon, arrived over the Oregon
Trunk Line Monday afternoon
the shipment being consigned to
J. C. Robinson, the local agent.
The shipment consisted of four
new 'Reo" machines, which
have been sold to Central Oregon
people, two at Madras for Dr. W
H. Snook and Messrs. Sayre &
Hendricks.
The roads in Crook County
were in gocd condition all wintc
for the use of automobiles
with the exception of a few days
and this shipment is only the first
of several other carloads of ma
chines that will arrive in the
near future for the Robinson
Garage.
