N Vibbert was in from his larm on north Agency Plains Monday, being on the way to Culver for the diilling machine ol the Central Oregon Well Comply. who will drill a well fur Mr. Vibbert on his land just over the limrock. The contract calls for a well not ex ceeding 600 feet deep, but Mr. Vibbert thinks that plenty of water will be found at a depth of about .150 feet. BUISDINQ NEW ROAD County Commissioner R. II. Bayley nnd a crew of men commenced work the first of the week on the grade from thr north of the Acency Plains down to the railroad. The top of the grade will commence at the top of the canyon coming out about the Jean Dubois place nnd the lower end wtll be at a point near the Vnora townsite. It is proposed to build a uniform prade all the way out, which will be of great benefit to the residents of the north part of the plains in hauling their urain and produce to the railroad. Con siderable money has been subscribed by the residents and the Oregon Trunk Railroad has donated $1,000 providing t'.ie grade is built in good shape, and the county is putting up the balance of the money required. -3 PRINEVILLE MERCHANT DIES Fletcher J. Livcly.for several years n business man of Prinovillo, nnd known to many In this section, passed away at Portland Wcdncay, January 26th, from pneumonia after an illness of a few days,- Mr, Lively had been in Portland sev al days purchasing general Merchand ise expecting to open a business in Red mond. The deceased leaves a widow and four small children. The remains were shipped to Aberdeen, Washington, where his parents reside, for inter ment.
