REORGANIZES Heorganization of the Dcschutco Ir rigation and Power Company, which holds state contracts to reclaim 214,000 acres of arid land in Crook county, was accomplished this morning, says Tues day's Portland Journal. In pursuance of an order of the United States court made yesterday, and in accordance with the plan of reorganization, the first bond holders foreclosed, and prac tically 97 per cent of the company's creditors pooled their holdings and transferred them into the rejunvenated concern's treasury in exchange for sec ond mortgage bonds. Provision, was made for the conveying of a first mort gage to allow new capital to be iiRed to extend the irrigation project. By means of the plan put into effect the irrigation company is taken out of the hands of the receiver and it wi.l go nhead to fulfill its contracts with the state, which were jeopardized with liti gation that for nearly a year fias tan gled up the affairs of the concern. Re organization was effected by L. N. Farnham, J. G. White Jr., and L. G. Addison, attorney for .and member of the committee of first mortgage bond holders, that first brought suit to fore close, and Jesse Stearns, counsel for the Deschutes Irrigatiou & Power Com pany, and for the Oregon lienholders. "Prospects for the straightning up of the affairs of the company are ex cellent," said Mr. Stearns. "New capital has shown a disposition to take up the new first-mortgage bonds, and we believe we can enlist suflicent mon-ey--about $2.000,000 to complete the proje t," r MADRAS CAFE SOFT DRINKS AL HOWELL TO TRADE I have a lot in a good location in the city of Madras, that I would trade for either unbroke hor ses or cattle.
