N GTOHs'bI RT K DAY PARTY HAPPY EVENT One of the mott pleasant parlies ever given in Madras was at the Washington's birthday dance given by the ilarrunnn surveyor boys Tuesday evening. A large crowd was present which thorough ly enjoyed (he hospitably of the Harriman boys, who were voted to be splendid en tertainers. The hall was tastefully decor ated in pational colors embellished with surveyors' paraphernalia: two tripods from each of which hung a hatchet, being nt the entrance of the hall, while upon the far ther wall hung a llevtlct's rod, a plumb and a chain, In the center of the hall was suspended a railroad lantern with a white tight, indicating a clear track. Two coiners of the hall were graced wit) huge howls of lemon punch. This event of the "railroad era" will Mtikc a happy recollection of the railroad boys, who have shown their good will to people the of Madras in a most charming manner.
