A large gray wolf, with hearrjuarters about 20 miles Up Crooked River, has been destroying yearlings to such an ex tent l&tcly tliat the stockmen have be come desperate. A subscription paper has been circulated and now tarries a purse of $90 for the huntsman who is lucky enough to kill the nuisance. Some stockmen put in as much as $20 td the lund. It seems a big price to piy, hut oiltle arc cattle these. I'rineville Re view, Tilman Rcuer, one of the specialist "dry farmers" of this sctiou, was n busi ness visitor in Madras Tuesday. Mr. Reuter expects to make another, exhibit at the county fair next Fall, but he says the merit of his showing will depend con sidernble upon weather conditions. Hut, notwith standing the weather, it is pretty certain that Mr Reuter will have a very creditable crop of grains and vegetables, as at present he has won more premiums for "dr farming" than any other farmer in the Madras country. . . cauoway-bWh wedDinc A very pretty wedding took place Sun day, January 16, 1910,'at the home of the home of the bride's parents, when Miss Vesta Drown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Drown, pioneer residents of the Haystack country, was united in mar riage to Mr. Uobqrt E Galloway, a thrifty young farmer who lives Southwest of Madras. The ceremony was performed by Rev, I. I). Drown of this place, A large gathering of the friends and relatives of the contracting panics were present to witness the happy event. A sumptuous dinner wis served to the wedding party and their guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Drown, which was made the scene of much merriment, with congratulations and best wishes for the future welfare of the bride and the grdom. The happy couple were the recipients of many tokens of esteem and remembrance from their many friends, Mr. nnd Mrs. Galloway will reside upon the bride's homestead Southwest of Madras. "TJOULTER-HILL WEDDING A quiet home wedding occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley D. Hill on Agency Plains, when their daughter, Miss Lorena May, was united tn marriage to Mr. William V. Coulter of Sweet Home, Linn County, Oregon. Rev. G. R. Moor head of this city oilkiatcd at the ceremony. These young people are well and favor ably known io this section nnd are very highly esteemed by their many friends.
