Fortunately for those who have wind mills, there are very few days when the wind docs not blow for a portion of the time anyway. French, who has been work ing for Sanford, Sill & Company, left the last of the week for Portland. After spending a week or so there he expects to return to his old home in North Carolina. Frank Loveland is drilling a well at the old Isham home, which he is now rent ing. He expects to move the drill over to the well which he staitcd on (he lot back of the Pioneer office this afternoon, and after diithng out the plug which was put in it, will plug this hole up and fill in with sufficient cement to make it hold, below the flow of water from which the present supply of the town is drawn. This well was never completedj but at a depth of about 140 feet the drill broke into a crevice in the lava underneath, and it has been contended by many that the waste through this hole is responsible for the shortage of water in a number of wells on that side of town.
