river was too muddy fur good fishing, and
thy only caught a small number ol trout.

Opal Springs. They went up on Satur
day afternoon, camping out over night on
the lull, nnd spent the next day taking in
the beauties of the famous Opal Spring

from a pleasant vacation spent in Alaska,
where he spent the greater portion of the

bers of his family at Ketchikan, and

Mrs. E, A. Jenkins, who lives six
nilles south of this place, has presented

cucumbers. During the Summer Mrs.
Jenkhis has supplied a number ol people
in Madras with fresh vegetables. These
arc all the output of her gat den, which

what can be done by careful cultivation
in this semi-arid district.
