The Christian Endeavor 8oclety will

Dr. M. V. Turlcy and C, L. Gist, of
the Sisters neighborhood, were fn Mad
ras last Thursday. These gentlemen are
both prominently connected with the
development of the irrigation district
between Laidlaw and Sisters,
J. S, McCoin has been in town during
the week, from his Grey Butte ranch. He
ha? with him his coach horse, "Coach"
and also lib roan Percheron, "Prince,"
both ol which are fine specimens of Ore
gon bred and Oregon grown horses.
C. M. Hyskcll, railroad editor on the
Oregon Journal staff, and W. L. Crissy,
secretnry of lorn Richardson, of the
Portland Commercial club, were in Mad
ras last Thursday, on their way home
from a visit into southwestern Crook.
Joe Uedingileld leaves today for Wasco,
where he goes to work for J. M. Foster
who has charge of the 0. T. Company
for 'the Merchants Protective Association
of Portland, Joe was in the employ of
Mr Foster when he settled up the Malloy
business at this place.
Conrad Schreiber and his sister, Miss
Anna, who have been visiting in Portland
for several months past, returned to Mad
ras yesteidny. They both have home
steads in the Methodist Hill neighbor
hood, and expect to reside there
permanently in the future.
Mr, and Mrs. S. H. Davis, who have
been residing at Laidlaw bpent Monday
night In town, while etiroute to their old
home at Snyder, Oklahoma. Mr. Davis
recently bought the John Fryrear ranch
on Sijuaw creekj and will return to make
permanent residence in Crook county.
