The new Malloy store building is rap. idly assuming form, and (f there is no in tcrrupiion in the construction, it will be completed by the first week in August. The building is 30 by 60 feet in. dimen sion, and will be conveniently arranged and modern fii 'every respect. Mr. Mal loy and family will occupy the second story as a residence. Ditney has received his appointment as carrier on tile Rural Mail Route starling from this point, nnd on l.nt Monday filed 'his bond nnd oath of Office. .His route extends over a distance of about 26 miles, and mail will be de livered to 135 familfei along this route every day. This is the the first rural mail route to be established in Crook cunty, and h the ftrongest possible proof nf the rapid increase of population in this 5pctinnof country. Only a very few years ago this same territory was grazed by slock, and a few families, scattered here nnd there throughout this region now traversed by a rural mail -01116, made up the entire population. With Its present rapid settlement and development, it .will hot ba long before this portion of the county will be one of the most densely settled portions of Eastern Oregon, as it is already the most numerously poptl latrd portion of Crook county. Princville Review Wm. Iloegli ha purchased the. T. F, McCallislcr (arm" in the Cove, 25 miles west of Prineville in Crooked river gorge. The price paid is Sloito,, Mr, Hoegli will take posses-1 s-ion on January l next. Bancroft whh returning with ln r, for a vim t at Bend. Mr. Guerin met them at Shaulko Saturday eve ulntr. They were delayed at Cro Keya for nearjy twelve bourn, becauce of Home accident to. the auto In whlcl they vcre to make tho trip from Hint place to Bend, aud -they did not reach Madraa until about teu o'clock on Sun day evening. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hamilton, of Ante lope, spent Sunday night in town. They left Princville in the morning of that day, expecting to reach Madras in the after noon, but about four miles out of Madras they took the wrong road and spent the balance of the afternoon and until mid night upon a number of roads which lead everywhere except lo Madras. Mr. Hamilton formerly rode after Cattle in this section of country, but he says that the knowledge of the country which he ac quired at that time did not do bim a bit of good Sunday evening, since this has become one ol the most thickly settled sections of Central Oregon.
