The last few days of warm
weather are greeted with satis
faction by the ranches of this
vicinity, and warm weather is
just what they need. The cold
days and nights of the past two
or three weeks have retarded
grain and gardens very material
ly. Besides, it has given the
cut-worms which are a general
pest iu.tlus part of the country
a longer lease of life. Two or
three hot days would 'icook the
goose" for these nuisances which
whieh are very destructive to
young vegetables.

Thomas J. Powell, deceased was

E. G. Bolter, of Lower Trout
Creek, spent Wednesday and
Thursday in our city giving
testimony in the Blterand Gar
ret case before attorney M. R.
Elliott. They were guests of
Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Elliott.

Joe Smith and son, Tommy, are busily
engaged running the road grader.
Mrs. Joe Smith is employed this week
at the home of J W. Dee to help take
care of the sick. '
Riley Preivor, of Lamonta, was seen on'
our streets Safuntay. He was on his way
to Turnerville.
Harry Pitzer accepted a position with
the Grizzly Lake Lumbering Co., the first
of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Vineyard, of Mud
Springs, accepted position at the Compton
sawmill last week.
Wm.Sannand Irvine Lott, of Lamonta,
passed through town last week, and we
were informed that they: wanted everybody
to know it, too.
Mr. and Mrs. John Patterson, from
the Compton sawmill, passed through
town last week, enroute to their home
stead, to erect them a nice cottage.
Miss Carrie Hamilton was called to
Fnneville last week, for medical aid. At
present writing we're very glad to hear
she is mutch better.
Henry Rocky, S. P. Sprinkle, W. E.
.Wills and son, Eddy, went fishing at the
McCallistercove several days ago. They
report an enjoyable trip, but fish were not
biting well.
