He has, however, leeu eiioouraKd to try ayam, and has en gaged the services of Sidney look of Maine au old and well known diver. One of the good things which the late leg islature of North Carolina did was the es tablishment of two State Normal Schools, one for white and the other for colored tellers, the same appropriation being made for each school. This is the first attempt ever made l.y the State of North Carolina to train the toaohers of her public schools. Cross HnMbamlit ubI ftmlillag Wives. "Domestic infelicity," which newspaper rejiortors nowadays credit with playing such an important juirt in life's drama, is often the result of lingering or chronic disease. What husband or wife can bo cheerful, smil ug and pleasant, when constantly suffering from the tortures of some dread disease ! Furha the husband's liver becomes torpid and he exieriencee bitter, disgreeable taste or nausea, has chilly sensations, alternating with great heat and dryness of the surface of his ImhIv, feels dull, indixtKHied and dizzy. Through suffering he liecomes gloomy, des pondent and irritable in temper. Instead of resorting to so reliable a remedy as a few doses of I)r. Fierce Furgative Pellets, fob lowed up with the use of the (iolden Medi cal Discovery to work tbebilliarv iix,n , of tne system, if he play the part of a "pen ny wise and pound foolish" man he will at tempt to economise by saving the cost of these medicines. Or the good wife may have become subject to sush chronic f f ections as are peculiarly incident tocher sex, ud being reduced in blood and strength, suffering from backache, nervousness, head ache, internal fever, and enduring pains too numerous to mention, she may become pee vish and fretful any thing but a genial helpmate. In this deplorable condition of ill health, should she act wisely and employ lh. Pierce's Favorite Prescription, it will in due time, by its cordial, tonic and nerv ine projicrtios, restore her health and trans form her from the tmevisli, scolding, irritable-tempered invalid to a happy, cheerful wife. Laying aside levity and shaking se riously, husbands and wives, you will find the Family Mudiuiuwi above mentioned reli able and jMitent remedies. For full particu lars' of their properties and uses, see Pierce's Memorandum Book, which is given away by all druggists. KldlmluNH Mr are entertain! about purga tive.
