mmm THE PROCRESSJVE STORE FULLERTON & RICHARDSON A CONTEMPTIBLE POLICY SYSTEM, ORDER AND CLEANLINESS ARE THE GUIDING RULES OF OUR LABORATORY HITCHCOCK'S DILATORY METHODS THE DRUG STORE OF QUALITY NEAR THE DEPOT ROSEBURG OREGON The Huard is pleased to hote that Mr. Walker, of Walker station, who was a dissenting juryman in the Wil liamson land fraud trial, denies em phatically the statements that were attributed to him by the Portland pa per . It is incomprehensible why the ( hregoniaa so bitterly denounced Jur or Flook, deliberately lying about him without any reason whatever. The statements attributed to both Walker and Flook left the impression that both of these men had shamefully vio lated their oaths. The Oregonian owes Mr. Flook a direct apology, as not one word said about him is true, a has been proven, and in Mr. Walk er's case the gentleman has entered such an emphatic denial that the Oregonian should either prove its as sertion or else fully retract its article. F.uirene tluard. The non-appointment of a Receiver at the Roseburg Land Office shows up the present dilatory method of doing business, and to put it in its mildest form, is an outrage upon the citizens of Oregon. No plausible excuse what ever can be offered for this delay, while the money of upright law-abid ing citizens is tied up beyond their reach, and though their families may be in need of the necessities of life, still the government sits and waits its own time to make the appointment, apparently oblivious of the injustice it is doing.--Port Orford Tribune. Much complaint is heard here among persons who have visited the Fair at Portland, because of alleged inadequate provision by the Southern Pacific railroad for the increased travel. It is charged that there is not sufficient clerical help at the Port land office, and that people are re quired to stand in line unreasonably ROSEBURG PLAINDEALER PUBLISHED MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS BY THE PLAINDEALER PUBLISHING COMPANY PHOKt JM 276. While some complaint has been made against Senator Fulton because the successful land office applicants were not chosen from thus district, how ever, it is a well known fact that the Heney-Hitchcock push would not con sent to the appointment of any man to these positions from this south western Oregon district as was dem onstrated in their turning down Mr. Dimmick, of Coos county. Senator Fulton's choice for Receiver, who is a gentleman eminently Wt 11 qualified for : the position and was deserving in every respect of the recognition. Simply through the chicanery, monarchial and recreant policy of Hitchcock the Roseburg land office ha? been so long suspended and its many patrons put to so much trouble and Oregonians were, as a general rule, much disappointed and dissatisfied with the severe sentence imposed ongt waiting for validation of tickets upon Oregon's venerable Senator by .
