Grants Pass, Or., June H Because he had just received a letter with the news that bis sweetheart had "gone back" on him and married another man, Albert E. Thompson, of Toronto, Out, walked out on a treBtle near Leland last Thurs day night, shot himself in the temple and fell 175 feet to the canyon bottom Mow. His body was found Friday, with 175 in the pockets and the tell tale letter in his pocket. The girl's name is not known, as the letter was signed only by a nickname, and this name the coroner declines to give up. I don 1 1 1 ii was an emplove ou a Southern Pacific steam shovel at Leland. He left the gang Ihursday. For some time he had been acting rather peculiarly. The letter also con tained information tiiat his brother had gone to Panama to live.
