UNCEASING HAUNT WORSE THAN DEATH Eugene, March 14 When Claude Stanton was hanged for the murder of John A. Liud a few years ago at Eugene he made a confession on the scaffold of which the following is an extract: "There are no successful criminals. The body was thrown into a large tire in an attempt to burn it. Finding tins too slow, the body was chopped to pieces with an ax and fed to the fire in sec tions.
