W STRONG THE FURNITURE MAN ine rouu .Myrtle mines have once more started to echo forth sounds of de velopment, ami it seems good to hear the thundering roar of blasting from the mountain sides and the smoke issuing forth from tunnel and shaft at noon and evening hours. Mr. P. J. McCormick has juet returned trom a business visit to Portland where his wife and son have been spending two months visiting friends. They returned with Mr. McCormick to his home on South Myrtle where he will continue his contract on section lr for Messrs Waddock and Heavenricb of Saginaw Mich. This property is about the center of the district and the installment of mining machinery will be welcomed by all well wishers in the prosperity of Douglas county and there is every reason to believe that when machinery once starts operation on the quarts of South Myrtle there will be no stop to it until every quarter section will have a reduction and concentrating plant all along the creek. The partiee holding the bond on the Little Chieftain mines are expected here soon to commence operations. This property has produced 5 carloads of ore averaging a.00 per ton and had prac tical miners been in the management would have long since been a dividend payer The Yellow Jewel mines are being de- veloyed by Mr. P.
