Mr, Bright has purchased the OUrander property near the railroad, 100x150 feet, which includes a fine two-story dwelling and outbuildings. Mr. Bright is a vet eran of the Civil War. He served in the ltlth U. S. Infantry and was 18 months in the Southern prisons, havine been confined in Libbey, Andersonville, and Charleston. He was in the latter while it was under fire from the guns of his own battery. Later he was in the pris' on at Florence, South Carolina. He was released March 13th, 1805, and dis charged May 8, 1805. Bartrum, supervisor o f th Southern Division of the Oregon Forest Reserve, returned home Iato last week from an official inspection of his district, covering several weeks. A low days was spent on the Ashland reserve after which the trip was extended as far east as the Klamath country, where many matters of importance to stockmen and settlers were taken up and adjusted Mr. Bartrum also met a number of his rangers and personally took up matters of interest with them. This tour took him over snow drifts four feet deep in the higher altitudes of the reserte and he experienced quite a hard trip.
