Arrenco, lato of Pennsylvania, who arriveil in this city in March of last year, is preparing to open a first class fully equipped machine shop in this city and ia at present busy installing his machinery in the shop which is located on the Parks projHirty on the corner of Kano and Washington streets opposite Wm. Carrolls residence. The old build ing has been enlarged and is now 20x50 feet, making ample room for the work shop. Among the machines at present being erected aro a six horso gasolino engine, a milling machine, ono largo 20 inch latho and a small lathe, largejlrtll press, hack saw machine, punch and cut off machine, clipper grinder, buffer and huff wheels for all kind of polishing, enameling ovens for bicyclo enameling, and several others. It is Mr Arrenco's intention to install, in the near future, a foundry that will Ihj ample for any casting that will be needed in this section of the country. Mr. Arrenco is a skilled workman and comes to this place with the best of rec ommendations. RAYMOND At his home on Days Creek, Douglas County, Oregon, Fri dav morning April 15.1901, Mr. Ephriam Kaymond, aged SO years, after a two weeks illness of ptien monia. Mr. Raymond was an old and respect ed pioneer resident of this county. A native of New York state he came to Canyouville, Oregon, in 1S51, being a re sident of that vicinitv ever since.
