    How to Set Out Trees.
In -preparing.- to- set out trees,
shrubs, vines, .etc, a hole should be
dug large and deep, a foot at least
larger than the natural spread of the
roots, from the fact that a tree or any
thing set out should grow a year or
two in good loam before it runs its
roots into the original gravelly ma
terial; otherwise its progress in grow
ing is apt to be very slow and sickly
looking, if it lives at alL When set
