If Hermann Cannot Run. Oh, I'm a dandy candidate, Ah tirao will surely show, And I'm getting next to Bingcr Everywhere I go. And I know that I can beat him For money or for fun, If tho voters would remember That Hermann Cannot Run. From Jackson and from Joscphino, From Curry and from Coos Comes news that makes mo think I am All sound upon tho goose, And Clacknmas and Marion Both say I'd take tho bun That is, provided, and except That Hermann Cannot Run. There's Linn and Lano and Benton too, There's Polk and old Yamhill; There's Lincoln and there's Douglas Royal pair on which to fill ; And Washington and Tillamook And Klamath, lonely one, All swear by mo, that is to say,1 If Hermann Cannot Run. And so I stand before you all In modest youthful state, Bacilus of Democracy, Microbe of candidate A pistol in tho arsenal, Tho seeding of a gun, But I can down my opponent If Hermann Cannot Run. Tho azure skies of Oregon First met my youtkful caze. I grow amongst its towering hills. Its canyon's purpling haze. 1 am if nothing else I am Old AYebfoot's Native Son, And I'll beat old Bingcr badly If Hermann Cannot Run. Hoots From Ihe Oakland Owl. I WHISPERING TOO I have heaid it whispered in loud tones that I was going to quit the music business, but that is only another from the old source for the purpose of gaining a point. Even if I succeed in ray new enterprise, it will be only another step towards holding my own against the trusts and combines. I am about the only piano dealer now on the coast that is going it alone and single handed. I cm grateful to the many friends who are giving me their patronage, for each month is bringing in greater results. I have never been guilty of selling a cheap piano for a high price or of misrepresenting the goods I handle, or even my competitor except in a defensive manner. And the name NEEDHAM (as he has no connection with that house) must be dropped from his ad. or he will hear something drop in regard to the price of Victor pianos that will surprise him and the public, or better see clipping from an eastern paper in my window, where Victors are offered for nearly two thirds less than is asked for them on this coast. This trick of holding a piano and keeping it in bad order just to knock its good qualities, is getting to be an old gag and the public certainly sees it or we would not continue to sell so many high grade Needham pianos. Do you remember not long ago, when a certain dealer got hold of a few Steinways and sold them for low prices just to burt its reputation? Did it hurt it? No and neither can they hurt NEEDHAM because it speaks for itself. All our last sales are a choice between NEEDHAIM and Chickering, NEEDHAM winning out every time.
